Incubator: Dallas Whitley

We visited the home-studio of Dallas Whitley, the last artist in this summer's Incubator Series. He told us—and showed us—how he works, and talked about the importance of darkroom craft and visualization, as well as the fundamentals of portraiture, in his practice. Incubator: Leslie Sharpe

Drawing from migratory patterns of caribou that she tracks online, her recent work is about restaging these movements in different spaces. Incubator: Jennie Vegt

Our Incubator series kicks off this coming week with the paintings of Jennie Vegt. We spoke to her in her studio about her work and what it's like to be starting out as a professional artist in Edmonton after finishing her BFA.

Incubator is a series of one-week mini-shows in Latitude 53's Community Gallery showcasing experiments and works-in-progress from Edmonton artists. Lindsey Bond - Public Forum

As part of "Messages To: The Edmonton Remand Centre Newspaper", Lindsey Bond hosted a public forum to discuss the Remand Centre's future move and the chalk drawings that surround it. Her project includes a chalk installation at Latitude 53 up until June 23, 2012, a book of photographs, and large photographs installed in LRT stations around central Edmonton.
